Background
For this project we were tasked to solve a world problem using a biotech solution. To start we had three stages to figure out which solution we should use. To start, we decided on focusing on the energy crisis. Then, in stage two and when we made a poster we narrowed our idea for a solution to Algae Biofuel, Lithium Based nuclear energy, and Solar Panels. From this we realized there was only one real biotech solution, so we stuck with Algae Biofuel. From here we did a lot of research and decided what aim we wanted to accomplish. We decided that for the current industry we needed to spread popularity and convince large companies to shift over to a clean energy source in Algae. Algae Biodiesel can work in current car engines and the only reason why companies haven's switched already was because of the high initial cost. With how polluted our world is today this may be the only reasonable solution.

Concepts
Algae Biofuel: Using Algae's plentiful natural oils to replace fossil fuels; energy rich and efficient.
Energy Crisis: Millions of people world wide have little or no energy and the people who have it, a large amount of it is almost unusable or ineffective.
Fossil Fuels: Fossil Fuels are traditional fuels used in present day cars, planes and trains; they also cause pollution and an excess of C02 in the atmosphere.
Pollution: Pollution is something done to the planet that is harmful or poisonous, in our projects case it is C02
C02: Waste product from humans breathing, as well as a byproduct from burning fossil fuels; C02 builds up in the atmosphere creating a warming effect on the Earth, causing Global Warming.

Reflection
This project was successful for my group for many reasons. First and most importantly, we were given the freedom to pick our groups, which gave us an option to work with people we work well with and were already acquainted with. Second, was the freedom of picking our topic. With the project being open to multiple worldwide issues, it gave the class many solutions to pick from, allowing a unique array for class wide biotech solutions. There were not many downsides, but I could name a few. First, we allowed ourselves to get distracted a bit early on, but this wasn't major because the rest of class time we worked on perfecting our solution. Second, we were more defensive in the feedback stage, making it harder for other groups to give us valuable ideas for changes. Overall this project was one of the most fun to end the year with, and I was glad to work on it with a group I chose and an idea I can really get behind.
