Project Description
For the project we were asked to build a trio of working instruments that function well and that can play a scale. We needed to have one percussion instrument, one wind instrument and one string instrument. For these guidelines we chose to have a standup bass, a trumpet-recorder combination, and chimes. This project seemed easy from the beginning, but was quite challenging as we moved along with it. My group was mostly focused and inclined to do our best, and that made the building process less stressful than necessary. The final goal was to make a presentation and play our scales in front of the class. When we did our presentation, our document was weaker that we wanted it to be. We were able to make changes to do better, and explain the physics more clearly. The scales were not a challenge, because we worked for many days prior to tune and figure out how to play the scales.

Reflection
In the end this project was very successful for our group. We had trouble at times, but everyone came out of it with a good grade and nice instruments. We did have negative moments too. For instance, Cole and I were gone for robotics for two days and when we were gone literally nothing got done. We ended up being fine, but that was a big fault in time management. The second pit was time management. You may be thinking that we were on our phones the whole time or distracted, but we actually spent too much time on chimes and not enough on the trumpet-recorder. This made us have to use a not great quality instrument for our demo for the class. The third pit was even work ethic. For the final document, in reality two people took their after school time to get it done and explain the physics clearly in CLEAR paragraphs. If we had all of our hand on the document would be two times better. We did have many positives too. For example, we all worked together nicely which made the building process much easier. I know from past experience that it is hard to make quality projects when the people in the group do not get along. The next peak is in class focus. We were on task majority of the time, and that helped the building process. Also, working in small groups of two helped us manage time and that came through positively in the end.
