Physics Of Sports VideoFor this project, we were tasked to put together a video that could show San Marin athletes how to become better, and the physics behind it. Our group decided to make a video about soccer, and thoroughly explain how to correctly kick a soccer ball. In our video we focused mostly on the following concepts: force, velocity, and the difference between impulse and momentum. When we started our project, we made a storyboard for the scenes that we needed in our video, and made a script that helped us do the voiceovers. When we started shooting the footage for our calculations, we all went out on the football field and experimented on how to perfect a kick. As we explained in the video, the best three things to do when kicking a soccer ball is foot placement, connection of your foot to the ball, and follow through of your foot and your leg. Now, we have the calculations needed for our video so we started the editing stage. The first thing we did was give out speaking parts and decide on the music. The music we chose was a fast-pace bagpipe song that set the whole mood for the video. The next step was to add all the small clips of people kicking a soccer ball in slow motion. We had to make hard decisions of what angle the camera should be at and how fast we wanted the clip to be. Then, we added the credits and made sure they were fast to not bore the audience. I was elected to be the star in the last scene, so we could end on a comical note. After we presented, we had to revise our project and take the advice the class gave to us.
